It was on. Darden led the way in the Ford Escape, and we headed up the coast
of Florida in the hybrid for the plethora of press conferences and tabling
events that awaited us. By the time we had made it to Jacksonville we had been
covered by at least five news media sources and had gotten over 60 postcards
signed. We were 700 miles into the trip and while the SUV had totaled $70 in
gas receipts, our trusty hybrid spent less than $30 of our funds.
